Today in 1996, David S. McKay, on behalf of NASA, claimed to have found evidence of life on the Martian ALH84001 meteorite. ALH84001 was discovered in Allan Hills, Antarctica on December 27, 1984. It is thought to be over 4 billion years old, making it one of the oldest Martian meteorites to be discovered.
