Today in 2002, Elon Musk founded the Space Exploration Technologies Corp., or SpaceX. The goal of the company is to find an efficient way to colonize Mars. Over the years, SpaceX has set multiple records for being the first private company to reach orbit. They also have several developmental contracts with NASA.
