September 20, 2013: Grand Theft Auto V Becomes Fastest-Selling Entertainment Product Ever

Today in 2013, just three days after its release, Grand Theft Auto V surpassed the $1 billion mark, making it the fastest-selling entertainment product in history. Initially released for the PlayStation 3 and X-Box 360, over the following years it was re-released for the PlayStation 4, X-Box One, and PC. As of this writing, GTA V is the third-highest grossing single video game of all time, behind only Tetris and Minecraft.
