August 22, 1902: The Cadillac Motor Car Division is Founded
Today in 1902, Cadillac was founded in Detroit, MI. Since its inception and still today, Cadillac has always held a top spot in regards to luxury automobiles. The company was named after the founder of Detroit, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac. Cadillac also laid the groundwork for many of today's standard automobile manufacturing processes; including the V8 engine, fully electronic systems, and easily interchangeable parts making mass production more efficient.
